2011 summer camp: Photos

Pick Your Camp...
Regular Camp: $285.00 per week
- Open to boys & girls, of any riding level or experience, 6 - 16 years old.
- Begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 2:00 p.m. daily. *Extended care avail. M-Th. at $10/hour per camper- billed at end of week.
- Swimming (certified life guard will be on duty)
Mini Camp: $175.00 per week
- Open to boys & girls, 3 to 6 years old.
- This camp is specially designed as a safe & fun introduction to ponies for your younger horse lovers!
- Begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 12:00 noon *No extended care available.
- ONLY held on the M, W & F of each mini-camp week.
- No Swimming
Advanced Camp**: $450.00 (a $650 value!)
Pre-requisite of this camp: Rider must be able to jump cross rails at minimum.
This camp specializes in horse show preparation with in-depth instruction on riding & horse care techniques.
Monday through Wednesday, each rider will have two lessons per day and will partake in morning barn chores for their assigned horse (clean stall, give feed/hay/water, turn-out in paddock, etc).
Camp will end the week by traveling to the
EPPHA Benefit Horse Show in Quentin, PA where the rider will compete in an appropriate division on Friday 8/12/11.
Proper show clothes are required, may borrow if necessary.
Tentative Schedule:
Monday - Wednesday: 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. One Flat Riding Lesson, One Jumping Riding Lesson.
Monday: Polo's, Splint Boots, Bell Boots, Lunging.
Tuesday: Wrapping legs for travel, Proper/Safe Trailer Loading & Unloading.
Wednesday: Mane Pull, Show Prep, Packing For Shows.
Thursday: 8:00 am - Pack trailer and head to horse show where the riders will 'school their pony/horse' in their appropriate ring. The horses will stable overnight on the show grounds. Rider's will be responsible for their horse - Feeding, Cleaning Stall, Riding, Grooming, Maintaining tack, etc. (Rider's may travel to horse show with us. Parents MUST make prior arrangements with Meghan as to what the camper will be doing Thursday night: Get picked up at show by parents, get a ride home to VMF from show where parents will pick them up at the barn, stay overnight at local hotel with parents, stay overnight at hotel with Meghan or other camp counselor).
Friday: Horse Show Day. Expected to arrive at horse show by 7:00 am. Take Care of Equine, Practice, Compete, Shop, Hang Out, Watch & Learn, Make New Friends, Bond with their Horse/Pony, Be Part of the VMF Show Crew for a day!
Saturday: Camp is over, but the show will be going on for a 2nd day. Rider's are encouraged to stay and show again since their horses and tack will already be there! Normal horse show training fee's will apply for this day only.
PRICE INCLUDES: Camp, trailering to and from horse show, training fee at horse show for both Thursday & Friday, use of VMF horse/pony at show both days, use of VMF tack/grooming supplies, feed.
EXTRA FEES: horse show entries (includes stall rental/shavings/hay at horse show), association fee's (if necessary), show clothing you may need/want to purchase, hotel fee's (if you choose to stay overnight), food/drinks (we suggest you pack some goodies)

There is a $100.00 non-refundable deposit required to enroll in camp. If you are planning to attend more than one camp, please send seperate deposits for each camp (not to be deposited until the week before each camp). Please mail this along with the 2011 summer camp registration form.
